For Crysis 2 Remastered, this patch fixes multiple visual issues. Additionally, it fixes some memory leak issues when loading into another level. These memory leaks are most likely the issues we reported on our PC Performance Analysis.
In some non-English game versions, the file Crysis 3\C3\videos2.pak is bugged, leading to missing voice acting during cutscenes.[17][18] Many users reported getting the bug since a patch.[18][19][20][21][22][23][24] The reason is maybe a patch that month which "cleaned up" the audio files but was bugged and never fixed.[25][26]
Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 Remastered have both received new updates, with the pair of first-person shooters now at version 1.2.0 on Switch. The games have been given several improvements, fixes, and more.
The Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered version 1.2.0 updates are available on Switch now. Both made it to the system as digital downloads back in October. We have information about a physical version for Crysis 2 Remastered here and Crysis 3 Remastered here.
Crysis 3 has received its first multiplayer patch and title update, courtesy of developer Crytek. The first update has already hit PC and is coming to consoles later, while the second has hit all formats already. Get the full patch notes below.
Crytek has released a new patch for Crysis Remastered on Nintendo Switch, bringing the game to version 1.2.0. This update follows on from the recent patches for Crysis 2 and 3 Remastered, which received similar treatment earlier this month. Crysis Remastered on Nintendo Switch has received technical improvements with its latest update, as well as some additional language options. Here are the full patch notes for the Crysis Remastered update.
Crytek has confirmed that version 1.2.0 will be the last patch of the year but also announced that future updates are planned for all versions of the game. When the original version was released in 2007, it became a meme to joke about whether or not your PC could run the game. At the time, it required hearty PC specifications to run it at a decent frame rate, yet here we are, able to now play such an infamous game on a Nintendo platform in 2021. The trilogy of Crysis Remastered, Crysis 2 Remastered, and Crysis 3 Remastered are available to download on the Nintendo eShop. The games perform surprisingly well on Switch.
I have all the crysis games on pc and although i enjoyed crysis 2 and 3 but i always found the first game to look amazing but very meh in the actual gameplay..i bought it on the ps3 just to see if it could actually be playable and it was seizure inducing..my god what was the frame rate on that horror..10-15 fps? Why keep flogging this tech demo?
@LordOfTurnips well, I've played crysis at launch and it was awesome. The suit thing and the physics were something else. Of course after more than 10 years it wears off. And then you could have fun melting your PC messing around with the graphics options ?

Crytek has released multiple updates for its Crysis Remastered trilogy, bringing about a number of fixes to each of the included games. In news shared via the game's subreddit, a new hotfix potentially sees a massive improvement in Radeon GPU performance.
Crytek announced that the latest update for Crysis 3 Remastered "Fixed a critical performance bug on AMD Cards." and that "AMD owners should see an increase in performance of about 20-50%" That is quite the performance boost for a post-release patch. It leads to interesting questions regarding what sort of prioritization was done to bug discovery and fixing - and on which platforms? It's particularly interesting considering that Crytek worked closely with NVIDIA in introducing their technologies - such as DLSS - to the Crysis Remastered package.
This means that NVIDIA users had a much better out-of-the-box experience than AMD. Besides being able to toggle DLSS for extra performance, they didn't have to contend with potentially 20-50% lower performance on their graphics cards irrespective of game settings. It becomes even more interesting when we consider how the Remastered Trilogy released on current-gen consoles as well - all sporting AMD Radeon graphics. There are no details as to what exactly was fixed, and Crytek's community and social media manager for Crysis also didn't elaborate on the bug. Crytek does however specify some of the improvements they've done to Crysis 3; for instance, Crytek elaborates they've "Fixed a DLSS issue in multi-sampled vegetation alpha test to improve grass movement when DLSS is enabled". They also go into detail on other fixes; in Crysis 2 Remastered, for instance, the patch notes read "Fixed a potential GPU memory leak that could occur when Ray Tracing is enabled. This resulted in performance issues being encountered after playing for extended periods of time."
Original Story: Crysis Remastered is being patched with support for the new wave of consoles and Digital Foundry managed to get access to Xbox Series X and Series S builds of the upgrade ahead of launch. Owing to the way 'back-compat plus' titles are distributed, we can't check out the PlayStation 5 build until it launches but thankfully, the wait there shouldn't be too long: we were informed today that the patch is out now - and we'll update this article with PS5 impressions as soon as we are able.
Similar to the recently released 2.1 update for the PC version, there are plenty of additions, tweaks and improvements to the game beyond the support for the new consoles. Taking pride of place in the list of upgrades is the inclusion of the Ascension level, a stage so taxing that it was previously removed entirely from all console versions of the game. Also welcome is the inclusion of Nanosuit mode swapping more in line with the PC original (this may have arrived in a prior update, but certainly wasn't present at launch - regardless, it's a nice feature and works well).
However, there is the sense that we're still missing some features found in the 2007 game, removed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions and which still haven't been restored for Crysis Remastered. The granularity of destruction found in the original still hasn't been patched, volumetrics still aren't on par with the PC original and this effect is completely missing in the resurrected Ascension stage, even it is present on the PC version of Crysis Remastered. Other OG Crysis features are also pared back or missing: vegetation animation still runs at a lower update speed than the rest of the game, while explosions still don't have any impact on foliage.
Still, the headline feature of the update is the support for the new generation of console hardware with both Series consoles benefiting from some potentially cool upgrades. Performance mode tackles 1080p at a target 60 frames per second on both Xbox machines, while quality mode aims for 2160p at 60fps on Series X and a capped 30fps on Series S. Meanwhile, ray tracing mode runs at best at 1440p60 on Series X with a capped 1080p30 on the junior console. The question is really the extent to which these performance targets are met during play, even with the inclusion of dynamic resolution scaling to smooth over difficult-to-render content.
So, ultimately, we can't quite achieve the console 60fps dream on Xbox Series consoles with this new patch - and bearing in mind performance levels achieved on Xbox One X, that is a little disappointing. However, the experience can still impress: quality mode on Series X when paired with a VRR-capable display certainly delivers the goods. As for PlayStation 5 - we're looking at this as soon as the game updates but pre-release, Crytek told us to expect 1080p60 in performance and RT modes and 1800p60 in quality mode - all with dynamic resolution scaling in place, naturally. Those resolution limits tie into PS4 Pro's equivalent outputs, if you're wondering why they're lower than Series X. It seems that this is a limitation of PS5's 'back-compat plus' feature - but we'll double check on this and report back on overall performance as soon as we can.
It looks like Crytek has put an end to the memes about Crysis melting PCs. The developers have released another update for Crysis Remastered, which improves the game's performance on PC. Allegedly, it is the "most significant patch to date".
It is also "the final patch for Crysis Remastered Trilogy" on PC (although the patch is unavailable on Steam, only on Epic Games Store - perhaps there is some mistake here). Crytek wants to focus on the recently announced fourth installment.
Yes, things have improved a lot since then with subsequent updates (as you can see on consoles as well), but Crysis Remastered can still punish our PCs. This is especially true if you enable a setting called "Can It Run Crysis".
Of course, it's not the details of "improved performance" that matter most here, but whether you can actually see the difference. It appears that this is indeed the case. Players report that after Patch 3 Crysis Remastered runs incomparably better than before the update. 350c69d7ab
